Architecture

The setup is straightforward:

Browser → Studio (Next.js on port 3000) → Gateway (port 18789)

Studio acts as a bridge between your browser and the Gateway that actually runs your agents. This means you can run Studio anywhere that can reach your Gateway—same machine, different machine on your network, or in the cloud connecting back to a local Gateway via Tailscale.

Getting Started

If you have a Gateway running:

npx -y openclaw-studio@latest
cd openclaw-studio
npm run dev

Open http://localhost:3000, configure your Gateway URL (ws://localhost:18789 for local), and you’re connected.

For remote access, the docs cover Tailscale Serve and SSH tunnel options—both work well for accessing a home Gateway from anywhere.
