5,400+ Free OpenClaw Skills Just Dropped — Here Are the Ones Worth Installing

By Prahlad Menon 3 min read

Someone just dropped a library of 5,400+ pre-built OpenClaw skills on GitHub. It’s called awesome-openclaw-skills, it’s completely open source, and it crossed 36,000 stars within hours of launch.

We went through all 30 categories — AI & LLMs, Marketing & Sales, DevOps, Communication, Web & Frontend, and more — and pulled out the ones that are genuinely useful versus the ones that are just noise.

Here’s our running list. We’ll keep updating this as we install more.

What Is This Library?

OpenClaw is an AI agent platform that lets you give your agent new capabilities by dropping in “skills” — essentially instruction files that tell the agent how to use a particular tool or API. The awesome-openclaw-skills repo is a curated, categorized index of 5,400+ community-built skills across every category imaginable.

The quality varies wildly. Some are production-grade tools built by serious developers. Others are barely a paragraph. We filtered for the ones that actually work.

The Ones We Installed

🎯 AEO Analytics Free + AEO Content Free

Category: Web & Frontend
Author: psyduckler

This is the most forward-looking skill in the entire library. AEO stands for Answer Engine Optimization — getting your brand cited by AI assistants (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) when people ask relevant questions.

Think of it as SEO, but for the AI era. Instead of optimizing for Google’s blue links, you’re optimizing for what Gemini says when someone asks “what’s a good matchmaking franchise to invest in?”

The aeo-analytics-free skill tracks your current AI visibility — does ChatGPT mention you? Does Perplexity cite you? The aeo-content-free skill then rewrites your content to increase the odds that AI systems surface it as an answer.

We’re running both on thelocalmatch.com and ThinkCreate.AI.

Install:

install skill aeo-analytics-free
install skill aeo-content-free

🐦 Bird — X/Twitter CLI

Category: Marketing & Sales
Author: steipete

A full X/Twitter command-line interface that lets your agent post, reply, like, repost, follow, and search — all via your existing cookie session. No API key wrestling, no $100/month developer tier.

We’re using this to autopost content to @themedcave — Rob Vargas’s Medium article, franchise updates, and relevant relationship/matchmaking content.

Install:

install skill bird

📣 BlogBurst — Virtual CMO Agent

Category: Communication
Author: shensi8312

The most ambitious skill in the batch. BlogBurst describes itself as a “Virtual Chief Marketing Officer” — it takes a single piece of content and autonomously distributes it across Twitter/X, Bluesky, Telegram, Discord, and more. It also handles SEO/GEO audits, competitor tracking, and community monitoring.

We fed it Rob Vargas’s 1,200-word Medium article on matchmaking franchising and got LinkedIn copy, Reddit posts, Craigslist ad text, and a Twitter thread — all in one pass.

Install:

install skill blogburst

Category: Marketing & Sales
Author: jhumanj

Apollo.io integration for people and organization enrichment. Search by job title, company, location, industry. Get email addresses, LinkedIn profiles, company data.

We’re using this to find potential franchise operators for The Local Match Co. — searching for “entrepreneur” + “relationship coach” + target cities (Pittsburgh, Orlando, Austin, Charlotte).

Install:

install skill apollo

(Requires Apollo.io API key — free tier available)

🤖 AI Lead Generator

Category: Search & Research
Author: highlander89

A B2B lead generation skill that combines LinkedIn and Apollo data to generate qualified prospect lists for any industry. Give it a target persona and geography, get back a list of real people with contact info.

More opinionated than raw Apollo — this one does the qualification step for you.

Install:

install skill ai-lead-generator

Categories Worth Exploring

If you’re going through the library yourself, here’s where we found the highest signal:

Marketing & Sales (105 skills) — Heavy overlap with tools like Brevo, Attio CRM, Apollo, and several Twitter/social automation tools. Useful if you’re running any kind of outreach.

Web & Frontend (938 skills) — Largest category by far. Buried in here are genuinely useful tools: AEO analytics, site deployment helpers, Ahrefs SEO integration, and a handful of browser automation tools.

Search & Research (350 skills) — Good academic tools, deep research agents powered by Gemini, and some solid lead gen workflows.

Communication (149 skills) — Mostly social network integrations. BlogBurst stands out. The Beeper chat history search is interesting if you use Beeper.

DevOps & Cloud (409 skills) — Very mixed. A lot of blockchain/crypto noise, but solid infrastructure tools buried in there.

What We Skipped (And Why)

Most of the blockchain/crypto skills — not relevant to what we’re building.

Skills that require paid API keys with no free tier — we’ll revisit when there’s a clear ROI.

Skills with less than 500 bytes of content — too thin to be useful.

The gaming category entirely — 36K stars or not, we’re not playing Among Clawds right now.
